Ingredients:The ingredients listed for Dabur Meswak Tooth Paste include Calcium Carbonate, Sorbitol, Purified Water, Silica, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Flavor Sodium Silicate, Sodium Carrageenate, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose, Meswak (Salvadora persica) Extract and Sodium Saccharin. There is some controversy regarding the Dabur Meswak Tooth Paste containing formaldehyde, an aldehyde known to be toxic and classified as carcinogenic according to the US National Toxicology Program. However, the usage of formaldehyde is permitted according to the EU Cosmetic Directive 76/768/EC in concentrations of 0.2% in cosmetic products and 0.1% in oral hygiene products.
