Ashwagandha in Sanskrit means, “that which has the smell of a horse”, and it can impart the strength, vitality, and sexual energy of a horse to one who takes it. There are many uses of Ashwagandha for all conditions of weakness or tissue deficiency in children and the elderly, as well as for debility due to chronic diseases, overwork, or lack of sleep as a result of mental exhaustion. The benefits of Ashwagandha are profound and it is the best rejuvenative herb, particularly for the muscles the marrow, semen, and for the Vata constitution. Ashwagandha benefits weak and atrophied tissues through its calming and nourishing actions.
