Ayurvedic Energetics: V-P+K= Hingavstak churna is a traditional Ayurvedic formulation made of eight spices that are carefully blended to strengthen digestion and eliminate symptoms of indigestion such as flatulence, bloating, constipation etc. Hingu, also known as Asofoetida, is a pungent gum from the Ferula tree that plays the central role in this formulation. Hingwastaka is a balanced formulation that has been carefully designed over the centuries to support digestion and eliminate digestive disorders without generating an excess of bile and contributing to hyper-acidity. It does this by utilizing herbs of variant potencies to mitigate the tendency towards imbalance presented by any individual herb. Although, Asafoetida has wide ranging health benefits, its digestive benefits are brought to the forefront through its combination with the supporting herbs and spices in this churna. Asafoetida is joined by a host of spices including Ajwain, Cumin, Caraway, and those of Trikatu to improve digestion by balancing the secretion of digestive fluids from the stomach, liver and spleen. Asafoetida and the herbs of Trikatu are heating herbs that stoke the digestive fire. Through the stimulation of digestive enzymes, these herbs encourage thorough digestion of food. ghee (clarified butter) and taken with the first bite
