Ingredients: Each 500mg tablet of Vijaysar contains: Vijaysar (Pterocarpus marsupium)

Pterocarpus Marsupium (Vijaysar) : A herbal preparation that has been found to reduced the glucose absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and improves insulin and pro-insulin levels.

Mode Of Action : The active constituents of P.marsupium are phenolic compounds. It significantly lowered the blood glucose level of hyperglycemic , The effects were due to an increase in insulin secretion, it impaired glycogen synthesis in the liver secondary to diabetes. P. marsupium modulated tissue glucose utilization in insulin-dependent tissues and could serve as one possible mechanism of its antidiabetic activity. P. marsupium was shown to slow the development, progression and severity of cataract, a common complication of chronic diabetes.

Adverse Reaction : Pterocarpus marsupium being an Herbal Supplement no report exerts any adverse reaction.

Drug Interaction : No drugs interactions are reported for this herb, but it may interact with antihyperglycemic or blood glucose lowering drugs.
