Dhatri Lauh (Ayurvedic Formula for Anemia & Pitta Imbalances)
Dhatri Lauh is a rare combination of herbs & minerals. This combination is derived from the ayurvedic manuscripts of ancient times. A formulation prepared from Nature’s owns resource is DHATRI (Phyllanthus emblica) & LAUH Bhasma (Purified Iron). Dhatri Lauh contains 4 ingredients. Each ingredient contributing by itself and as a whole to this combination of harmless, herbal medicine for the treatment of anemia. Indications: Ingredients of Dhatri Lauh: Dhatri / Amalaki (Phyllanthus emblica) Amalaki is referred to in ancient text as the best herb to prevent ageing. It is a very strong rejuvenative which is believed to be the richest natural source of antioxidant vitamin C, with up to 720 mg/100g of fresh pulp or up to 900 mg/100g of pressed juice (of a heat-stable form which does not lose its value through processing.) Although only one inch in diameter, the Amalaki fruit has the same antiscorbutic value as two oranges. Amalaki is also effective for respiratory complaints. The fruit juice and its sediment and residue have antioxidant properties due to Vitamin C content. Amalaki is a carminative and stomachic. It is used in Ayurveda as a cardiotonic, aphrodisiac, antipyretic, antidiabetic, cerebral and gastrointestinal tonic. It raises the total protein level and increases the body weight due to positive nitrogen balance. It has been found to have an anabolic effect. Lauha Bhasam (Purified Iron) A special process makes the iron readily assimilable for the elderly. A powerful hematinic indicated in anemia, it stimulates the appetite and has a general vitalizing effect. Mulethi Churna (Glycyrrhiza Glabra) A highly valued herb in India, used in formulation of medicines for weakness, anorexia, respiratory troubles; dizziness and palpitation & in bleeding hemorrhoids. Tonic, Aphrodisiac light laxative, demulcent, useful in inflammatory irritant, affection of genito urinary diseases, cough, sore throat, dysuria, analgesic in arthritis. Aphthous stomatitis, peptic ulcer, anti-stress, calms down Giloy (Tinospora Condifolia) In Ayurvedic literature Giloy has been used as a tonic, Vitalizer and a remedy for diabetes and metabolic disorders. It has been used to reduce blood glucose level. In general debility, dyspepsia, fevers and urinary diseases. The bitter principles present in this herb show Antiperiodic, Antispasmodic, Anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties. The plant is used in Ayurvedic to improve the immune system and body’s resistance against infections. it is used as Immunomodulator in Immunosuppression of obstructive Jaundice, Hepatic fibrosis, Peritonitis and Sepsis. The plant has been found effective in preventing fibrous changes and promotes regeneration of the liver from drug induced hepatic toxicity.
